NEW YORK (AP) — A New York doctor who treated a newborn with kidney stones has been fired after being caught by a state health inspector.
The state health commissioner says the doctor, Dr. Robert Stone, has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation into a complaint.
Stone’s wife, Susan Stone, says he has been cleared by the New York State Department of Health.
The agency says Stone is a certified podiatrist and a registered dietitian.
It says he worked in Manhattan and has treated about 500 newborns since 2008.
The Associated Press is not naming the doctor because he is a registered nurse.
