Evan Stone says he’s ready to start his professional career with the Seattle Seahawks.
Stone’s comments come as the team begins preparations for their first preseason game, which is set for Saturday night at CenturyLink Field.
Stone says he won’t be ready to go on the field until Monday morning, when he has to complete a concussion protocol and get clearance from the league.
He also says he’ll need to play Sunday, a possibility that comes with the expectation of a high volume of carries.
“I’m hoping to be healthy and be a little bit more active, but that’s the biggest thing,” Stone said.
“That’s how you play, and if I’m going to be there, I want to be active.
I have a few weeks to go before the season starts.
I’m definitely excited about that.
I’ve just got to get my head around it.”
Stone says there are a lot of things he’s still figuring out.
He says he can’t wait to get back to Seattle and play in front of the Seahawks’ faithful.
