Stone Brewery’s newest release, Stone Fire Pit, is a bold, yet refreshing and enjoyable beer.
Its a dry-hopped sour ale, but that’s exactly what makes it so good.
Its not a wild hop sour.
Instead, it uses a wild wheat malt to create a creamy, yet subtle hop aroma, then adds an acidity to the mix.
This beer is full-bodied, with a slight tartness.
But its best described as a dry, hoppy, hop-forward IPA.
The Stone Firepit is brewed at Stone Brewing Company’s Stone Brewing Park in San Diego, California.
Stone Fire Pits beer is brewed in a traditional wooden fire pit at the brewery’s Stone Fire House in California.
The beer is then dry-hoped for an additional 30 minutes, then fermented in a local brewery’s yeast lab.
The final beer, Stone Fires, is brewed with an American wheat and pale ale yeast strain, using a mixture of malt, hop, and water to achieve the characteristic dryness of this beer.
It’s available in 16 oz. bottles at select Stone outlets.
A new Stone Fire pit, StoneFire Pit, comes in a large white plastic bag, but it is only available in the United States.
Stone’s StoneFirePit release is scheduled for release on September 5.
