A new report claims that Apple is planning to ditch the company’s flagship iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models for a new, smaller iPhone 6.
The new handset is being codenamed “Apple Watch,” and it’s expected to be a cheaper option.
Apple will instead be making a bigger, more powerful iPhone 6 that features a 6.7-inch screen and a 5-inch Retina display.
The report, citing unnamed sources, claims that the new device will be unveiled next month at the IFA trade show in Berlin.
Apple’s current iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models are expected to go on sale next year.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Apple Watch is a name that’s been used before for a smartphone that’s a “smaller version” of an iPhone, like a 5.5-inch model or the 7.9-inch Apple Watch Edition.
